Letter: Protect American values, or else ...

I see shades of World War II when thousands of Japanese Americans, most born in this country and loyal to America, were put in detention camps just because of the color of their skin and the shape of their eyes. But that didn’t stop their children from enlisting into the military to become the most decorated unit ever, the Nisei. By the way, where were the German American detention camps?

Now we have a loud mouthed, pompous, egomaniacal, erratically dangerous person who would go even further and deport thousands of Muslim Americans simply because of their religion. This is a contradiction of our Constitution because it specifically states that there shall be no religious test. One doesn’t condemn an entire religion because of the violent extremists. Many Muslims are serving with honor in our military. Muslims came to this country to escape oppression and condemn it as we all must.

I believe we should not be railing against Muslims but against the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). The problem with CAIR’s initiative is that no one who follows Sharia can honestly claim to follow the Constitution. The former advocates for human rights abuses, which the Constitution prohibits.

Now he is calling for water boarding and torture. This is again against our Constitution, which states there shall not be cruel and unusual punishment inflicted. The Western powers and the World Court agree. Who can honestly support this person unless they are cut out of the same bolt of cloth? We must all speak out and do our part to protect American values or else…
