Letter: Osprey Village funding survives

Many of your readers recently learned that Gov. Nikki Haley had vetoed the proviso funding for Osprey Village, a pioneering effort that is a public-private partnership. Unfortunately, there was no reporting of the veto override by our state legislature.

Through the unfaltering efforts of our supportive legislators, especially Sen. Tom Davis and Rep. Bill Herbkersman, we were able to get Haley’s decision reversed.

Osprey Village continues to move forward in creating our “neighborhood with a purpose,” and we plan to begin providing services for citizens with disabilities in the near future.

As for Haley’s veto, we have been informed that her determination was based upon misinformation she had received, which sometimes happens. But in the end, the right outcome occurred and we thought your readers should know of that positive outcome.
