Letter: School board, superintendent liabilities
In regard to the editorial board’s comments on the Beaufort County Board of Education and Superintendent Jeff Moss, you are right on. (“School board desperately needs new blood,” June 24.)
I don’t usually agree with the newspaper, but as far as I am concerned “infusion” on the board is not the right word, “dead” is a better one. I’d rather have a “hot chick” than some “old bag” who needs to give it up. I think you know who I am talking about.
As far as Moss goes, he said his years as an educator is justification for him to be way overpaid. The superintendent of the Cleveland, Ohio, public schools barely makes that amount.
Finally, this nepotism rule is a joke. I guess when you are the king you can appoint who you want and how much you pay them.
As a retired educator, I feel sorry for the teachers in Beaufort County who work so hard daily for such a small amount of pay. As far as I am concerned, Moss’s liabilities certainly outweigh his assets.
