Letter: Big mistake to drop math

I just saw a news clip that stated that Wayne State University is dropping math subjects as a requirement on some of its majors.

I heard that the reason given is that results of a study led the faculty to conclude that there are three kinds of people: those who understand math and those who don’t.

They are going to substitute “cultural diversity classes” since the basket weaving classes are all booked up.
