Letter: In SC, it’s tax and waste

Dittos to the letter from Akron, Ohio, about South Carolina’s abuse of the owners of second homes to fund their own public school operations.

Until taxpayers understand who should be paying for education (parents), expect future problems with accountability and a constant need for more money.

Since arriving on Hilton Head two weeks ago, all I have heard about is all of the different South Carolina governments need for more funding.

As I sit on Hilton Head’s spectacular beach and watch a camouflaged truck speed down the middle of the beach policing something — I’m not even sure what — it is obvious to me that resources are abundant and wasted.

My message to Beaufort County residents: resist the constant government demand for more of your tax dollars. Just say “no.”
