Letter: Better advice on protracted war

A recent writer expressed umbrage with the Trump-supporting female college graduate’s position that Sen. Lindsey Graham was instrumental in involving the United States in a land war on the Asian continent. A possible reason for the critic’s opinion is that the dissenter does not realize that Iraq is a part of the Asian continent. That knowledge is available with a quick Internet search.

In October 2002, both Graham and Hillary Clinton voted very publicly for the war in Iraq. Now, Graham bills himself as the go-to expert in military and foreign affairs. He chooses to ignore the advice of persons more knowledgeable and more experienced. Otherwise, he would not have voted for the protracted war.

As a physician for many decades, I’ve learned to listen carefully to my consultants. When memory fails, the Internet serves to keep the record straight.
