Letter: Bluffton must address traffic issues
Dear Traffic Engineering Department,
Bluffton has more than doubled in size. Let’s get a handle on S.C. 46. With all that building going on, part of S.C. 46 needs to be widened.
We have had rain for the third day in a row and all those live oaks and other trees that drop their leaves will all add to some dangerous driving.
I have written earlier that the live oaks need to be removed in order to accommodate all these drivers. A tree can easily be planted.
Don’t forget all the new buildings in Old Town Bluffton that do not have enough (or safe) parking. There is a large parking lot near the post office and library so why not bring in the trolley to drop off patrons and give a small tour?
When folks drive to a destination and there is not enough parking, or safe parking, they will not return. Trust me. Heaven help these new businesses. This is the Bible Belt. Bluffton’s new businesses could turn into a ghost town.
