Letter: USMC supporters want landing field

I am writing in response to the recent letters regarding the discussion of an alternate landing field for Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort.

I, too, strongly support the U.S. Marines. I, too, strongly support MCAS Beaufort. And I also strongly support an alternate landing field. And I do not find those three positions to be in conflict in the slightest way.

I am having difficulty understanding how being supportive of an outlying landing field suggests I do not support the Marines. I would really appreciate the writers explaining why they feel this way.
