Letter: America needs ‘non-politician’
Many Americans are not satisfied with the current economic and political situations in the United States, but are not sure they are willing to do what is needed to correct the problem. Too many Americans are conflicted about voting for a “politician” or a “non-politician.” The sad truth is: Politicians are the people who got us into this mess. As a result of their foolishness, the United States has become a leader in nothing and has little or no international respect.
The “non-politician” running for president is not speaking or acting like a politician, which makes many citizens very uncomfortable. Some citizens feel content listening to the same mundane rhetoric and false promises that they have been bombarded with for decades, and have been conditioned to fear anything different.
The debate focuses on whether we select a politician who has proven to be unethical and untrustworthy, or someone who is speaking like a common person. If we listen to the journalists, party officials or other public leaders, then the answer is easy: Stay the course and vote for the person who looks like the past, and who will keep honest, hard-working people supporting a do-nothing populace.
However, if real change is desired, then Americans everywhere need to vote for what is best for the country as a nation, and not for a bunch of lazy incompetents and illegal residents. It has been said, “If nothing changes, nothing changes.” It’s your choice, Americans: the same old stuff or something invigorating.
