Letter: MCAS Beaufort too loud

I was curious whether I was the only one bothered by the increased noise from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort over the last year. So I filed a Freedom of Information request with the air station asking about the number of noise complaints. Lo and behold, I learned from the response that there was a 75 percent increase in noise complaints between 2014 and 2015.

Mayor Billy Keyserling’s recent reiteration of the need for an alternate landing field seems right on the money. Either that or there appears to be a number of residents willing to grab a sleeping bag and pillow and join Mayor Billy on the tarmac.
