Letter: Simpler circle solutions
I am surprised that no simple and relatively inexpensive solutions have been offered to ease congestion at the Sea Pines Circle. For consideration:
1. Stop development on the south end of Hilton Head Island. Any structure that is replaced can generate no more traffic than the one it is replacing.
2. Eliminate left turns on the street from the circle to the Sea Pines gate. Everything can be accessed from another way.
3. Stagger check-in days for rentals. Half would be Saturday to Saturday and half would be Sunday to Sunday.
4. Work with Sea Pines to eliminate selling of passes at the gate. Have such sales moved to another site or generated through online sales. No one would enter without a pass, so fewer delays.
Give some of these a try before deciding to make drastic and expensive changes.
