Letter: Feel the Bern of a hypocrite
Bernie Sanders gets the “Hypocrite of the Year Award.”
The great populist, man of the people, defender of the downtrodden, and champion of the the environment chartered a Delta 767 to fly to Rome. He took his wife and 10 other family members, along with staff, Secret Service and press, on an airplane that normaly carries more than 200 people.
The plane flew 4,436 miles and used 16,596 gallons of fuel. I wonder how a man who has never had a job outside of government and claims to be poor could afford the many thousands of dollars the charter must have cost. Surely not out of campaign funds. I am not sure, but I think that personal use of campaign funds is against the law.
How sad for the thousands of misguided kids across America who sent money to the campaign because they thought that Sanders was something more than a tired old Communist with the same old failed ideas that have never worked and never will. I am guessing that when they see this story they may want their $27 donations back.
