Letter: Sea Pines Circle isn’t broken

What can the Hilton Head Island Town Council committee be thinking?

During the past 30 years that we have lived on the island, I have seen an occasional fender bender at the Sea Pines Circle and once saw a confused visitor attempt to go in the wrong direction around it. But by and large it works efficiently. Yes, sometimes traffic backs up and it may take three or four minutes to traverse the circle.

However, if the committee wants to see a graphic example of a two-lane circle in action, they need only to drive to Bluffton and look at the demolition derby in action at “suicide circle.”

So please, save our money and leave the circle alone. It ain’t broke, so don’t fix it.
