Letter: Trump beats any Democrat

Last month, David Brooks, the New York Times’ house conservative, took aim at Donald Trump. Trump’s supporters were excused, but dismissed for “selling their integrity” in frustration with dysfunctional Washington.

As one now without integrity and anxious for wholesale change, I would vote for Trump rather than any Democrat, even though he’s not my favorite.

Brooks calls Trump “especially unprepared to be president” ... “and without realistic policies, advisers, or learning capacity, but vastly narcissistic ... he insults the office of president with less preparation than necessary.” This claim is vastly exaggerated, but could be made of President Obama.

Brooks then raises the honesty issue, citing Trump’s numerous inaccuracies and name-calling in public speeches and debates. Not good, but insignificant compared to the repetitive lying about important federal government failures and tragedies that have become trademarks of Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Brooks complains Trump is childish, and surrounded by sycophants. Whatever the number of Trump sycophants may be, it pales when compared to the devoted staffs enjoyed by Obama and Hillary in recent years: Valerie Jarrett and Huma Abedin are examples of round-the-clock sycophants, and the mainstream media cannot be omitted when naming sycophants.

Seldom mentioned, but contributing greatly to widespread unhappiness of the American public, is the degree to which the rule of political correctness has permeated our society. All levels of government and academia are responsible for promulgating this, and intelligent people want no part of it. Here too, media are their handmaidens in nonsense.
