Letter: Media, stop the fearmongering
Recent polls showed that voters in Michigan and Mississippi worried about “where the economy is going” (eight of 10 voters). Who put that fear there? The media did. The economy is doing great.
Unemployment is at a low of 4.9 percent. The U.S. has gained back 900,000 jobs from overseas. Furthermore, there are 14 million more jobs now than when President Obama took office.
While $187 billion was loaned to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in 2008 in the bailout, they have paid back more than $245 billion; $4.6 billion was to be sent to the Treasury in March.
The voters are continually misled by the media to fear ... everything. I call on the media to stop the fearmongering. Why not try being fair-handed?
