Letter: Paradise getting paved over
Following up on the recent letter on development in Beaufort County looking like northern New Jersey:
Clear-cutting to make way for yet another big box store or strip mall is the only approach developers seem to know these days. Kroger at Shelter Cove follows the Walmart approach, or for that matter the approach used everywhere — remove all trees and pave everything in sight.
Perhaps residents of Beaufort County should visit New Jersey or Atlanta or a city in Ohio and decide if this is what they want it to look like in a few years.
