Letter: Can we survive until Obama leaves?

I am truly worried that America cannot survive another 10 months of Barack Obama.

He wants to close Gitmo but his rationale for closing it has no factual foundation. I have not seen a single piece of evidence giving an example of terrorist organizations using Gitmo to recruit terrorists. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

America is losing all credibility with our allies and adversaries. North Korea continues to build nuclear weapons and long-range missiles; the Chinese are militarizing the South China Sea; Russia continues to try and overthrow the government of Ukraine and has replaced the U.S. as the primary world power in the Middle East; Iran continues its nuclear and long-range missile program while simultaneously supporting terrorists; Libya is going down the drain; and ISIS is expanding into Asia and North Africa, not to mention the U.S. and Europe.

So what critical things is Obama focused on? He is spending political capital on closing Gitmo for only one reason — he made a campaign promise to close it and now he needs to do that to protect his legacy. He is traveling to Cuba, an insignificant island that poses no threat to us. And there’s always climate change to push.

And he has lied to the American people on many occasions, such as Obamacare, Benghazi, refugees from Syria, and the “red line” in Syria.

Ten months seems like a very long time.
