Letter: Clinton’s email problem not the ‘big lie’

I’m disappointed in the Beaufort County Democratic Party chairman, a fellow retired intelligence officer, and his column on March 10. He has transitioned from career military intelligence officer to political shill by invoking his military experience unprofessionally.

He starts with a “Dick and Jane lesson” on classification categories, carefully omitting any mention of Special Access Program intelligence discovered in Clinton’s server in the course of the ongoing FBI investigation. This is intelligence beyond Top Secret. Clinton shows a complete lack of competence in intelligence operations and management.

He never mentions the real security issue, which would not have allowed this mess to happen. Intelligence officers know very well that sensitive intelligence information is transmitted from point to point through servers that are housed in physically, electronically, and acoustically hardened facilities. These facilities are monitored by trained security personnel to prevent hacking and communication intercept. Intelligence information is encrypted and transmitted in code from point to point to other harden facilities. Clinton’s server operated in a non-secure environment. The column never mentions this. Now the question is: “What do our adversaries now know about our worldwide operations and intentions” due to Clinton’s arrogance and ignorance?

Then he attempts to deflect the issue to the Republican Party by dragging out McCarthy and “The Big Lie.” It’s looking like he is supporting the Obama policy of the “Big Cover Up” (i.e. the video caused the attack in Benghazi, IRS and the Tea Party audits, “Fast and Furious” weapon transfers).
