Letter: Pat Conroy deserves the attention

I would just like to commend The Beaufort Gazette and The Island Packet for the coverage of Pat Conroy these past few days.

I have been a devoted fan of his writings for 20 years.

I feel your coverage was both informative and dignified. He has done so much for our area that it only seems fitting he be remembered this way.

I’m sure he would feel honored, and possibly a little embarrassed, by all the attention, but it is deserved.

I am saving the issues along with all my Pat Conroy-signed first editions as a keepsake of a brilliant writer.
