Letter: Elections chair not fit to serve

Ron Clifford has demonstrated once again that he is not fit to serve on the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County, much less serve as its chairman.

The Beaufort County web site states that the board was established in accordance with Section 7-5-10 of the South Carolina Code of Laws:

“The governor shall appoint, upon the recommendation of the legislative delegation of the counties, competent and discreet persons in each county, who are qualified electors of that county and who must be known as the ‘Board of Voter Registration and Elections of ... County.’ ”

By his partisan behavior, Clifford has demonstrated he is not competent and certainly not discreet. If he does not resign from the board, he should be removed by the governor.
