Letter: Moss nepotism part of big problem
I don’t usually agree with the newspaper but on your editorial concerning the school board whiffing on the nepotism policy, you are right on the mark.
I am writing an open letter to Superintendent Jeff Moss, and the school board. First of all, I am not a psychic but I can tell you what will happen. Darlene Moss will be paid $90 grand and in a year or so both she and her husband will be terminated or they will resign and move on to another “scam” and be paid for it.
Yes, I said scam. I am a retired educator who spent a year teaching in Beaufort County and have to say between the administration and the antiquated school board, education in Beaufort County has a lot to be desired.
My question now is with Moss thinking about a four-day school week, will he put his wife in charge of that too? How much more will she get for wearing that hat? How many teachers in Beaufort County make $90,000 a year? Why are young teachers leaving the area? I truly know why this is called the “Slowcountry.”
