Letter: Cruz best understands Constitution
I will vote for Sen. Ted Cruz on Saturday because he shows the strongest support and respect for the Constitution.
I urge everyone to get a copy of this document and read it. It is not too long or too complicated to comprehend. When you have done this, ask yourself if the way the country is running now is in compliance with the Constitution.
If you are happy with the way things are going, then do not vote for Cruz. But if you think that we are heading in the wrong direction, if there seem to be no effective limits on federal power and influence on our lives, if spending is insanely out of control, if you would like to return to constitutional, limited governance, then please join me in supporting Cruz.
I also urge anyone who in considering voting for Donald Trump to please reconsider before it’s too late. I understand that you might be frustrated with Republican leadership in Congress, that you have lost faith in the political process, and that you want a drastic change. I share these feelings, but I warn you that Trump shows a recklessness in his speech, an excessive love for himself, and a lack of respect for the Constitution (or any other external constraint on his behavior). He is following in the mold of Benito Mussolini, a dictator who initially enjoyed popular backing but who led Italy into a ruinous war and chaos.
