Letter: Control own world, not political blather

In watching a recent GOP debate I finally figured out what politics is. No matter what a person says, some negative thing is going to be said or exaggerated.

When Obama said he will enforce gun control, people said he was in violation of our Second Amendment. In reality, these laws are already in place. All he did was reinforce them.

I got the idea while watching a show. When the defendant refused to take the stand, people said he was guilty. On the other hand, if he did take the stand they would say he was trying to talk his way out of it. My point is that, no matter what you do or say, people will find fault.

It seems today that if politicians say something first, it's good, but if someone else says the same thing first, it's bad. Politicians tell you anything you want to hear. They love it when people like us argue for their cause.

Instead of change, maybe we should make things we have better. Do you actually think a person in office is going to change your life for the better? Lose your ego and don't waste your time listening to these people. They are justifying their jobs, and we are all weak to believe them.

Try and take control of things you have. Your family, your job and your future is much more important than any election. I'm not a Republican or a Democrat. I'm an American.
