Letter: Nothing complicated about nepotism policy

I am disappointed the majority of Beaufort County Board of Education members still find nothing wrong with Superintendent Jeff Moss altering the district's nepotism rule in order to make his wife eligible for the newly created director of innovation position.

Rather than sanction the superintendent and support a nepotism rule established in 2010, our board gives the impression of working for the person they were elected to manage.

Please put a stop to the self-inflictedchaos by insisting your elected representative reinstate Section IV, Paragraph D on the proposed draft on conflicts of interest that reads: "No immediate family member of the superintendent shall be employed within the Beaufort County School District in any capacity." There is nothing cumbersome or complicated about that.

For all you school board members who ran on a platform of transparency, now is the time to prove it.
