Letter: Football players' antics repugnant
A repugnant feature of football today -- especially college football -- is leaping, dancing, gesticulating self-congratulation. Such a display is triggered by even the slightest accomplishment.
Players seem to think such "celebration" is an intrinsic part of the game, rather than a boorish exhibition of poor sportsmanship.
The media encourage these displays by focusing on them. Although I have not done a season-long tabulation, it seems as if at least half of the football "action" pictures in your newspaper are of players celebrating.
