Letter: Column on boomers progressive nonsense

Regarding the op-ed column on this page Monday, what do you get when a professor at the University of Michigan, a senior fellow at left-leaning think tanks like Milken Institute and the Brookings Institution, writes for the Los Angeles Times about old, white Americans?

Bet your last dollar it'll be chock full of progressive nonsense.

William Frey would have us believe baby boomers are now tending their massive retirement portfolios -- accumulated not through perseverance and hard work, but because of fortunate times and circumstances -- and ignoring the plight of the younger, more diversified population that is victim to income inequality, unaffordable college tuition and job scarcity.

The pathetic boomers just don't get it: The good times are over and they need to share the wealth with blacks, Latinos and other minorities -- lest they be branded racist. Failure on their part to recognize the importance of diversity will lead to a bleak future for the nation.

Oh, brother. I can barely see through the tears to break open my piggy bank.
