Letter: Litter on roadside needs an answer

It is said, "Beautiful Beaufort by the sea," however, some parts of this do not apply. I live in the Grays Hill area and when I turn onto Carolina Avenue off of Bruce K. Smalls Drive, I see so much trash along the side of the road.

I contacted the county but was informed that this was a state road. I contacted the state and was informed that they did not have the resources to clean this area. I was also informed by the state department that they would contact the litter patrol office. This was a month ago, and still nothing.

So what is the answer?

"Beautiful Beaufort by the sea" is not always true.
