Letter: Protecting residents should be top priority

Hilton Head IslandI read your opinion piece on the recent study regarding the Jenkins Island traffic solution. You spoke very eloquently regarding two key stakeholders: workers and tourists. My only comment is that you failed to mention the most important stakeholder: the local residents of the island.

I challenge you to try to make a left-hand turn out of Windmill Harbour between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. during the week.

Making a left turn into and out of Windmill Harbour is a health hazard at any time.
