Letter: Hilton Head needs to turn up the lights

Dear neighbors, when is Hilton Head Island going to put up more lights on its roads?

I do not count all the Christmas lights at the fire station near First Presbyterian Church. After the New Year, that corner will turn back into a dark groundhog hole.

I feel for all the restaurants that do not have adequate lighting. Why would folks who are in Bluffton drive over from hotels or homes, when we in Bluffton have well-lit roads, including Bluffton Parkway, and a good choice of restaurants?

The entrance at Windmill Harbor coming off the bridge is not the safest.

They say build it and they will come. My motto is, show me the way that is a safe, well-lit way, and then and only then will I come.

This is the 21st century, and we even have LED lights.
