Letter: Leaf blowers not worth the concern

To all the people who hate leaf blowers: I wish I were you.

Then my only care in the world would be the sound of gas-powered leaf blowers.

For the record, I don't own one.

Instead, I worry that if I go to a place with a large gathering of people, someone will shoot it up with an AK-47 just because he or she doesn't like my religion, or my choice of movies, or the color of my shirt, or some such thing.

I worry about the direction this country is headed with the gentleman occupying the White House, as well as the people in Congress. I also worry what's going to happen when the next White House occupant takes her oath of office.

I worry about the education my grandson will get once he starts school next year -- especially after everything I read is centered on the politics of who gets hired or not. The way I feel, the superintendent could hire his mom, dad, all of his kids and his dog if it leads to a world-class education.

I worry that I may go to work tomorrow and find that my company no longer exists or no longer requires my services.

So you see, the noise of the ubiquitous gas-powered leaf blowers (and there are some in my neighborhood) doesn't even make the top 100 of my concerns.
