Letter: Please keep repeating Boundary Street letter

I read with interest and complete agreement the recent letter regarding the upcoming project on Boundary Street/U.S. 21 in Beaufort.

I hope The Beaufort Gazette runs this letter once per week until the project is complete. With the recent history of road improvement projects locally, I hope it is finished on time and within budget, but I don't expect that will be the case.

This is a perfect example of a group of people caught on the railroad tracks with the train coming -- everyone looking at each other, and no one yelling "Get off the tracks!" It seems unconscionable to completely remake this road when there is a decades-long backlog of dirt roads that could be paved and roads that need repair (as well as road drainage).

As the letter noted, it's as if no one making this decision ever was in traffic on this road during lunchtime or had to stop as the ambulances/fire trucks navigated the turn lane to get by.

This is all in addition to a story about homeowners' land being taken against their will for this project.
