Letter: Universities today are out of control

Sun City Hilton HeadGeorge Will's column says it all. The faculty members in our institutions of higher learning are full of hypocritical elite snobs. There is a famous quote attributed to Voltaire, among others: "I disagree with what you say, but I would defend to the death your right to say it."

The new saying among the intellectual elite and even many of the students is: "I disagree with what you say so shut the heck up! If you don't, you will get a failing grade and possibly be expelled from this great institution of higher learning. We also reserve the right to use physical force to have only our opinions heard."

What a sad state of affairs. People like this are out to destroy our country.
