Letter: Let us welcome Syrian refugees

Hilton Head IslandBack in the 1970s, I was proud of Iowa's Gov. Robert Ray and very happy our Methodist church followed his leadership sponsoring a boat family.

Today, more boat people cry out for our help. Gov. Nikki Haley and South Carolinians need to step up for Syrian refugees and for the joy they will bring to South Carolina's families.
