Letter: America's leaders must cling to values

Is America in trouble? Maybe. We have a government that refuses to recognize reality. Our current crop of liberal leaders, and some who want to be future leaders, are unable to distinguish between good and evil. And to make things even more insane, they criticize those who oppose them as "un-American."

The decision to avoid potential danger is not stupid. It's called survival. Most Americans will endorse a sensible immigration plan. Flooding the land with a whole slew of undocumented aliens in inviting trouble. Our European neighbors are learning that the hard way. If we are not careful, we will suffer the same consequences they have: financial ruin and violence.

For all the troubles undocumented aliens have experienced, they do not change their habits or attitudes once they arrive in a new land. They do not assimilate.

And yet, our liberal democratic leaders do not understand why Americans want to protect their country. This nation is not for everybody. It requires dedication to our principles of freedom that respects the rights of all individuals, not just those of the same mind set or religion.

This nation has reached a critical point. What is urgently needed is a leader who can restore the beliefs that made the United States the envy of the world. That leader must display integrity, honesty and loyalty to the constitution.
