Letter: Pause for vetting of Syrian refugees

Members of the Obama administration consistently portray Syrian refugees as widows and orphans. This is not only misleading but inaccurate as the groups are also composed of young men and women of the ages of those who are responsible for terrorist attacks and suicide bombings.

ISIS has boasted of infiltrating refugees with their insurgents. This should be taken seriously, as the president of France has stated that at least one of the Paris terrorists had a Syrian passport that enabled him to travel freely throughout Europe.

History has a habit of repeating itself as we remember North Korea inserting insurgents among refugees fleeing to the South during the Korean War. In Vietnam, I can personally attest to the Viet Cong mingling among the refugees with the intention of killing Americans.

In view of all that has occurred, I believe the country should respect the recent bipartisan legislation passed by the U.S. House of Representatives calling for a pause until the nation becomes more confident with the vetting process.
