Letter: Moss, school board have done great things
There has been considerable controversy about the ethical conduct of the Beaufort County School Board and the Superintendent Jeff Moss. Both the media and many letters have condemned both of them on many issues. However, missing in this narrative is the fact that the S.C. Ethics Commission has an ongoing investigation about all of these issues.
May we all please wait until after it has concluded its investigations prior to condemning the board, Moss and his team?
While many of you appear to be more concerned about what you have read in The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette, may we please point out a very important fact? Namely, that this board, Moss and his executive staff have done more to improve public education in the county in the past two years than all of the others in the past 20 years combined.
Even though I have been involved in public education here in the county for more than 20 years (mostly about public charter schools), I do not have a "dog in the fight."
May we please pause and wait for the outcome?
Also, the above-the-fold article in the Nov. 21 Packet and Gazette must be read to the very end, where it should be obvious to everyone, including the Packet, that the complainant from North Carolina has a bias against Moss to the point that it appears to be a personal vendetta.
