Letter: US terrorism policy, politics must change

America is awakening to the threat of Islamic radical terrorism, nudged by the horrific attacks in Paris; we're in the headlights.

Current U.S. policy to combat and defeat the ISIS threat has been Pollyanna; containment has been feckless. The U.S. can no longer tolerate willy-nilly leadership and short-term direction emanating from the White House. Policy must change. Borders and the U.S. entry application process must be secure.

The calculus has changed and now will reshape the presidential debate; all previous concerns and topics pale. Who will best serve the nation? Dismiss the body politic. Think about it and your children and grandchildren, who will inherit future events.
