Letter: School board choices don't merit half-billion

Let's get this straight. The Beaufort County Board of Education wants an additional $480 million from an additional tax.

This is the same board that didn't think Superintendent Jeff Moss did anything wrong by changing the nepotism rule so his wife could be hired to a $90,000 job in the district office.

It's the same board that elected as its new Chairwoman Mary Cordray, who thinks she has the power to tell those in attendance they can't address anyone by name. Freedom of speech is not applicable with this board. And she is another person who thinks Moss did nothing wrong.

So, yes, let's give these cronies an additional half-billion dollars so they can make more jobs for their families, friends and neighbors and/or whatever other scams they can think of. Why not?

By the latest choices and decisions they've made, why would you think otherwise? And why not add all the significant others of all the board members to the employment role so as to bring back the "good ole boy" days? $480 million. It'll work.
