Letter: Immigration ironies sharp for Cruz, Rubio

How ironic is it for Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio to take such strong positions on the subject of Syrian refugees? I wonder what Rubio would be doing now, and where he would be, if the governor of Florida and others refused to let Cuban refugees in because some Castro agents might sneak in with them.

As for the governors who have taken the same position, I can't help thinking that, if they are really interested in our security, as opposed to political posturing, why don't they come out for renewal of the ban on assault weapons?

Isn't it convenient to have the Atlantic Ocean, so that we can insulate ourselves from the consequences of a mess that we helped to create, starting with the "weapons of mass destruction" saga?
