Letter: SC needs to add vehicle inspections

I am replying to the recent letter to charge a fee for trailers that are not registered and should be taxed.

Well, I will state that I sent a few emails to our great Gov. Nikki Haley concerning the road problems. Yes, it is the trailers of big vehicles and trucks that do the damage. But this state needs an inspection policy to remove vehicles that are not insured and need to have turn signals and all lights working.

Once inspected, if repairs are not made, then a ticket should be issued. I am from Pennsylvania, and if your car does not pass inspection, then you pay a fine if it is not fixed. All of this is listed in the system.

We have too many junk/trash cars on our highways, and the ones of us who keep them in proper operating condition are paying. It's the same with insurance.

Make an inspection mandatory at $60 a year, and it would clean up our road problems.
