Letter: VIN on registration has info county needs

Taxpayers should know that all the information pertaining to their make and model of vehicle is contained in the vehicle identification number (VIN).

Your VIN is at the top of your registration. The Beaufort County auditor's office stated that they have no way to ascertain the model of vehicles. However, the information is staring them in the face. The taxpayer shouldn't have to do their job.
