Letter: Council votes on stormwater puzzling

Politicians never cease to amaze me. Though the measure passed, four members of Beaufort County Council voted against an average $37-per-year increase to improve our water quality and stormwater management capabilities.

This had been mandated by the EPA and the state health and environmental department under penalty for noncompliance.

So are they willing to pay the huge fines that would result with that money going to the federal coffers? Or would they rather pay the 10 cents per day to comply? Wow, that must be a tough one, huh folks?
