Letter: Nation must find a hard-nosed leader

What has happened to the Democratic Party? Harry Truman and John Kennedy would not recognize it.

Many now call themselves progressives, disguising the fact that they really identify with the socialist/communist system of government mind control. Of those Democrats now running for president, the two current leaders in the polls are of this ilk.

One is incompetent, corrupt and a pathological liar who has sold her soul and her country for money and power. The vice president, who will be declaring soon, is a buffoon, selected by the president to be his foreign police expert. How is that working out for us? Virtually every decision these two have made has resulted in a disaster for our country and many others.

A mistake many voters make is they get used to voting Democrat or Republican and end up identifying themselves with that label. They fail to examine their own beliefs and values to see if their party and its leaders are compatible with theirs.

Our country is in extremely serious trouble today, and "we the people" must think of it first when voting. Being a good speaker or sweet person doesn't get it. We need a hard-nosed leader whose main objective is to rebuild and revitalize this nation. Our country's future is at a critical stage, so we had better think very carefully before casting our vote. Do we continue on the current failing path or move boldly forward?
