Letter: Why Donald Trump has struck a nerve

Despite what you may think of his solution to the problem of illegal immigration, Donald Trump has hit a nerve with the majority of Americans who are fed up with the political correctness the left tries to shove down our throats and their rancor when we refuse to swallow their line of baloney.

Trump may not be the ideal messenger, but he's the one out there saying what we have wanted the politicians to have the guts to say for the past two decades.

We are America and her citizens, first and foremost. We have done our due diligence as a nation over the past 250 years to be the exceptional, powerhouse country we are today.

To undo that, as the left has been working at for so long, is to bring us down to the level of those who want what we have, yet aren't willing to fight and work for a better life in their own country as the U.S. citizens and legal immigrants have done for so long. Destroying our way of life does no one any good.
