Letter: Tiger shark episode bad for many reasons
It was disappointing to see the photo of the young man displaying the similarly young dead tiger shark on page one of the Sept. 22 sports section. It is reminiscent of the days The Gazette used to run photos of "brave men" holding up 6-foot or so rattlesnakes by the tail.
It's also disappointing Hilton Head Boathouse didn't advise the father and son to take a selfie and release the creature when asked by them what to do with it while it was still alive.
A further disappointment and shameful waste is that, on finding the marina closed on their return, they cut the shark up and, to paraphrase, did the best they could to dispose of it.
Hey! You kill something, you eat it. Or you find and give it to someone who's hungry who will.
