Letter: Swap one refugee for one US politician

Hilton Head IslandI read in the newspaper that the president wants to bring at least 10,000 Syrian refugees to the US next fiscal year. I am only mildly concerned about this for, although the U.S. is obviously overcrowded now and cannot continue to absorb unlimited numbers of new refugees, I have a plan. It's a good plan and one that most Americans will happily support.

In a nutshell it is this: let's continue to accept refugees as we have always done, but to be sure we have room for them, for each one that comes here, we deport one politician.

I suspect that the problem will be over by next year when we trade 10,000 Syrians for 10,000 pols.
