Letter: Tail wagging dog in school district
Every organization has a specific chain of command. The board of directors being at the top. They should be the policy-making and approval entity.
I can think of 90,000 reasons the superintendent created this new position without approval from the board of directors; it worked for him before. Why not do the same in Beaufort? Maybe no one will notice.
The board of directors should perform exactly as the name implies. In this case, it appears the tail is wagging the dog.
