Letter: Median on U.S. 278 needs trash cleanup

How about organizing a cleanup along the route all tourists must travel to get to Hilton Head Island? We wonder what these folks must think about all of us who live here.

The medians and shoulders were mowed on U.S. 278 through Bluffton last week, and all the trash was chopped and scattered so that our main road looks like a dump that is miles long. Not very impressive.

Aren't clean roads as important as clean beaches to encourage our tourists to return next year?
