Nancy Pelosi has too much influence over Democrats like U.S. Rep. Joe Cunningham
On Joe Cunningham
It was once said that all politics was local, but the growth of federal government influence has changed that.
Voting for U.S. Rep. Joe Cunningham is voting for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and California values.
These include:
▪ The Green New Deal.
▪ High taxes.
▪ Anytime abortion.
▪ Open borders.
▪ Corruption.
▪ No accountability..
When Cunningham ran for Congress in 2018 he stated that he would not support Pelosi for House speaker — but he supported someone who did back Pelosi for the position. Who was Cunningham fooling?
Cunningham touts his independent voting record, but has supported the Pelosi agenda on every issue of substance. It is well known that with Pelosi in power, permission must be given for Democratic House members to cast negative votes — and only when the numbers allow it.
Except for the drilling issue, do you ever hear about Cunningham’s stance on any other important issues?
These issues include:
▪ Abortion.
▪ Immigration.
▪ Corruption at the FBI and intelligence agencies.
▪ Energy independence.
▪ Housing policy.
▪ Governmental regulations.
▪ Many other parts of the Democrat Party platform.
You should vote for Cunningham if you wish to see Pelosi U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have even greater influence.
Cunningham’s ads only show a young family man who drinks Charleston beer, but don’t be fooled again.
Do not keep Pelosi in power.

On politics
So as we get closer to the November elections, I am very amused by how the media and press present the photos of Democrat candidates. For those with fixed smiles, I am surprised that sparkling stars are not yet radiating from their teeth.
When I ran for office in my former state, I was told by a sitting Democrat mayor that there are three things that voters look for in a candidate. In order of importance they are:
1. Name recognition.
2. Likability.
3. The issues.
Yes, the issues were last!
This was hard for me to believe, and it was a sad testament on voter preferences (with exceptions). And the more I learned about politics, the more it appeared to me like a big chess game for power and control from all sides.
I first heard the word “poli-trick-tion” from a tour guide in Belize. While passing a beautiful oceanfront development, the tour guide said, “This is where the politricktions and lawyers live.”
This U.S. Postal Service spending bill is the handy work of such “politricktions,” and the Democrats are rushing to pump billions of dollars into it for obvious reasons.
Never mind the pandemic’s economic hardships; the U.S. Postal Service is in serious need of a top-to-bottom, neutral assessment. The funding debate should wait until after Nov. 3.

On Trump
I am so thankful that I am retired from the military — and that I do not have to follow the orders of the current president.
Even though I voted for Democratic candidates and did not always agree with the policies of Republican presidents, I would have faithfully followed their orders without question. I trusted that their decisions were based on study, reason, logic, the guidance of advisors and a genuine concern and love for their country.
That cannot be said about this president.
When President Donald Trump is not following the bidding of the Trump News Network, he creates policy based on what is good for him; there is no reason or logic to be found.
Now Trump is attacking the military — maybe he considers the members of the military to be expendable, like the fallen soldiers he called “suckers” and “losers” at Belleau Wood.
Trump has also accused the military brass of promoting war to make profits for the defense industry. While I have no opinion on the defense industry, I do respect the military leadership; they have the knowledge and experience needed to make the difficult decisions that help protect our freedoms.
If Americans vote Trump in for another four years, then we deserve what we get.
