Wrong time for road construction on Hilton Head’s Pope Avenue
I am writing on behalf of the residents of the Town of Hilton Head Island. We are questioning the town’s decision to rip apart the intersection at Pope Avenue and New Orleans Road in the middle of a very busy tourist season.
Why was it crucial to make these changes now? Could this have not waited until fall?
Is it because of the opening of the new USCB campus on Office Park Road that someone chose to sabotage tourists and locals alike with the construction and new traffic patterns?
Somebody made a very poor decision and it would be very nice to hear an explanation why this all had to happen mid-summer. It’s a mess.
